Hey,

Welcome to a new edition of the InTheMarket newsletter! There are exciting news and developments in the world of DeFiChain. Let's get started right away!

New Special DFIP from Andreas, Kügi and DZ: Staking Token Promotion

Abstract (TLDR): The new Special DeFiChain Improvement Proposal (Special DFIP) offers additional DFI rewards for staking select tokens (ETH, SOL, DOT, MATIC, SUI). These incentives are valid for a period of 120 days and are intended to increase the total value invested (TVL) in DeFiChain.

Details:

  • Abolition of the DUSD Buy and Burn Bot (BBB): Previous rewards earmarked for the BBB will now be used to promote the new staking tokens.

  • Reward structure: rewards start at a certain value per block and are reduced linearly over the 120-day term. This is to encourage users to invest in the ecosystem for the long term.

Goals:

  • The main goals of this DFIP are to attract users from the communities of the newly added tokens and to increase the overall awareness of DeFiChain in the DeFi sector.

  • The hashtag #RoadTo50 underlines the ambitions to increase the value of DFI and thereby strengthen the entire ecosystem.

Additional Benefits:

Adding new stackable tokens to DeFiChain will increase the purchase demand for DFI. This is particularly attractive as DeFiChain plans to stack 90% of the tokens deposited as collateral, which should further increase the utility and value of DFI.

Updates and Changes:

  • All remaining DFIP will be sent to the Community Fund at the end of the promotion period.

  • Crypto Rewards will be reallocated depending on the approval of another DFIP.

Community-Engagement:

The community is already actively involved. A Reddit post and a Twitter space on the topic provide platforms for discussion and feedback. This shows that the team is open to the community's opinion and seeks ongoing dialog.
